i24 News – The Israeli father and son murdered on Saturday by a Palestinian terrorist in the West Bank were named as Shai Nigreker, 60, and Aviad Nir, 28.
A video taken at the scene of the attack near the Palestinian town of Huwara and circulating on social media showed streaks of blood on the floor of the car wash.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he sent “condolences to the family of the two victims who were ruthlessly murdered. Security forces are working tirelessly to bring the killer to justice.”
Opposition leader Yair Lapid posted on X (formerly Twitter) to condemn “a deadly and loathsome terror attack that killed a father and his son. I send my condolences to the victims’ family and friends at this difficult time.”
EU Ambassador to Israel Dimiter Tzantchev, said “I’m appalled by the terrorist attack in the West Bank which took place today, in which two Israelis were killed. Violence against civilians is never justified. The EU condemns terror.”
Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist group which controls the Gaza Strip, said the attack was a retribution against Israeli actions. Spokesman Abdul Latif al-Qanou said it was the “result of the resistance’s continuous promise to defend our people and respond to the crimes of the occupation.”
