On Oct. 13, a schoolteacher in France was murdered and others were injured in an apparent Islamist attack. Witnesses said the attacker, who was arrested and taken into custody, shouted the Arabic phrase “Allahu Akbar” (“God is greatest”) while targeting the victims with a knife.

On Wednesday, eight French airports were hit by security alerts, and some had to be evacuated. The Palace of Versailles was also closed after facing its third security threat in five days, Reuters reported.
