IDF Discloses 10 Soldiers Killed Fighting in Northern Gaza

i24 News — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated Wednesday morning that nine soldiers were killed the prior day, fighting the terrorist organization Hamas in northern Gaza. Later the same day, the death of a tenth soldier was disclosed.
The Israeli troops were killed in two incidents, one in which an anti-tank missile was fired at the Givati Battalion, and the Armored Battalion were hit by an improvised explosive device (IED).
The military spokesperson released the names of the the fallen soldiers: Lieutenant Ariel Reich, 24, from Jerusalem; Corporal Asif Luger, 21, from Yagur; Sergeant Adi Danan, from Yavne; Staff Sergeant Halel Solomon, 20, from Dimona; Staff Sergeant Erez Mishlovsky, 20, from Oranit; Staff Sergeant Adi Leon, 20, from Nili; Corporal Ido Ovadia, 19, from Tel Aviv; Cpl. Lior Siminovich, 19, from Herzliya; and Staff Sergeant Roei Dawi, 20, from Jerusalem; Sergeant Pdaya Mark, 22 years old, from Otniel.
The military also stated that it notified the families of two more injured soldiers.
Previously, on Tuesday, two other soldiers were reported killed in a separate clash with Hamas.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the country is having “painful losses.”
“The entire nation of Israel embraces you, the families, from the bottom of our hearts. We are all with you in your time of great sorrow,” said Netanyahu.
Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Wednesday stated, “The fall of IDF fighters in the battles against Hamas terrorists in Gaza is a hard and painful blow. Our hearts and thoughts are with their dear families.”
He added that “the significant achievements of the heavy fighting in the depths of the Gaza Strip unfortunately exact a heavy price.”
The incidents came as the IDF’s ground operation intensified in Gaza. The military on Wednesday reported hitting over 11,000 Hamas targets in Gaza sine Oct. 7, when the Palestinian terrorist group began the current conflict by invading Israel and massacring 1,400 people, mostly civilians.
