‘Supernova: Music Festival Massacre’ Documentary About Hamas Attack Acquired by Worldwide Broadcasters

A documentary about Hamas terrorists targeting a music festival in southern Israel during their deadly Oct. 7 onslaught has been acquired by a number of broadcasters around the world.
Supernova: The Music Festival Massacre was picked up by BBC World Service, ZDF in Germany, SVT in Sweden, DR in Denmark, RAI in Italy, VRT in Belgium, Canal+ Group’s CNews in France, Record TV in Brazil, and a major broadcaster in the United Kingdom. The London-based company TVF International, which is handling worldwide sales for the film, is also finalizing deals with further broadcasters, Variety reported.
A trailer for the one-hour documentary was released in late November, and the film will premiere on KAN in Israel on Dec. 23.
Supernova: The Music Festival Massacre chronicles from start to finish the music festival attack near Kibbutz Re’im in southern Israel, close to the border with the Gaza Strip, where 365 attendees were killed. Hundreds of people were also wounded and 40 kidnapped as hostages. The documentary features first-hand accounts of the terrorist attack from survivors and first responders, and real-time footage taken from Hamas’ cameramen and GoPros, mobile phones of the victims and survivors, CCTV footage, dash cams, and first responders. The film also includes interviews with survivors and parents whose children Hamas took as hostages back to the Gaza Strip.
“The scenes and testimonies we have documented are almost inconceivable and unprecedented. Working on this has been particularly emotional as the magnitudes of the horrors perpetrated are coming to light,” said Duke Dror (Inside the Mossad), the film’s co-director and co-producer.
The documentary is also produced by Reinhardt Beetz and co-directed by award-winning filmmaker Yossi Bloch (The Devil Next Door).
